Howard “Buddy” D. Goldman, III is the co-founder and a Private Wealth Advisor for Wealthpoint Capital Partners. He started with Northwestern Mutual in July of 1985, continuing in the path of his father and grandfather working as a financial advisor who specializes in insurance, investments, and comprehensive business and estate planning. Buddy continued in his family’s footsteps by assuming the role of running the family practice of Goldman Associates that was founded in 1952 in association with Northwestern Mutual. Recently, Goldman Associates evolved into what is now known as Wealthpoint Capital Partners where he is joined by his son Casey and longtime friend Scott Butler.

Buddy was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he currently resides with his wife Abbey and German Shepherd, Cooper. They have two sons, Casey and Zachary; Casey is a partner and Private Wealth Advisor for Wealthpoint Capital Partners, while Zachary holds a Master’s in Computer Science from Tufts University and is currently working in Austin, Texas. In his free time, Buddy enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling, fine dining, and playing golf with clients and friends.

Buddy is a graduate of Tufts University, where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. This engineering background enables him to analyze and understand the complexities of the business which attributes to his deep knowledge base. Additionally, he holds the Series 6, 7, 63, 65, and the Maryland Life and Health Insurance licenses. He also holds several industry designations which includes: CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant), and AEP® (Accredited Estate Planner).

Buddy is a frequently sought-after speaker at industry meetings and consistently ranked in the top 100 in the country for the Forbes and SHOOK Research Top Financial Security Professionals. In 2024, he was honored as the #1 financial security professional in Maryland. He remains an active member and is a past president of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. A perennial qualifier for the Million Dollar Round Table recognition, Buddy attained the exclusive recognition of “Top of the Table” for over seventeen years.

Scott is the co-founder and a Private Wealth Advisor for Wealthpoint Capital Partners. He has been an advisor with Northwestern Mutual since 1989. Scott is a graduate of The University of Delaware, where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He also holds several industry designations which include CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CLU®, ChFC®, and RICP®, Private Wealth Advisor and Lifetime member MDRT.

Scott has successfully held several leadership roles with Northwestern Mutual, including Managing Director from 2002-2021, Past-President of the NM’s Managing Directors Association serving 2008-2012, Past-President of the Association of Agents 2016, and NM Committee member 2004-2020. He’s also enjoyed experiencing leadership roles with outside professional networks, including serving as Past-President and Board member of Howard County Hospital Foundation, a member of John’s Hopkins Medicine. His attraction to leadership began in the Boy Scouts, where Scott achieved Eagle Scout.

Scott’s expertise and experience helps his clients find confidence, happiness, and abundance through comprehensive planning and a comfort from advice. When not planning for clients, Scott loves running, golfing, reading, and enjoying time with family and friends at their farmette in West Friendship, MD. Married to Rachel, they are proud parents to three daughters Abigail, Hannah, Phoebe and two rescue dogs, Archibald and Beau.

Casey is a Partner and Private Wealth Advisor for Wealthpoint Capital Partners. He is the fourth generation, sixth member of the Goldman family to work in the financial services industry. He started with Northwestern Mutual in 2014 and subsequently partnered with his father, Buddy, in 2017. Casey was born and raised in Pikesville, Maryland and currently lives in Baltimore with his wife, Léa, and their two dogs Archie and Albie. Casey is an avid foodie and bourbon collector who enjoys traveling around the world when he is not cheering on his beloved Baltimore Ravens.

Casey graduated cum laude from Elon University in 2015, where he received a B.A. degree in Business Administration. He currently holds his Maryland Life, Health and Variable Annuity licenses as well as the Series 6, 7 and 63 securities licenses.

As a lifelong entrepreneur with extensive experience in business and private real estate, Paul specializes in sophisticated planning strategies for households and companies with abnormally complex financial and tax situations.  He founded Torchia Financial in 2004 and grew the company from startup to a highly successful private wealth planning firm serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth households in over 20 states across the country.  Torchia Financial later merged with Wealthpoint Capital Partners, and Paul currently leads the Pennsylvania team out of York, PA.

Paul has lived in South-Central Pennsylvania for much of his life and resides with his family in Lancaster County, PA.  He is a musician in his spare time and is active at Church.  Paul also enjoys fine art, creative writing, traveling, and a wide variety of outdoor adventures.  The charitable organizations most important to Paul include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Charity Water, Food for the Poor, Doctors Without Borders, and Empower Hope.

Paul received a B.S. in Business Management from Millersville University.  He also holds FINRA Series 7, 6, 63, and 66 investment licenses, LAH insurance licensing, and the following professional designations:

Dan Nguyen is a Private Wealth Advisor with Wealthpoint Capital Partners, a firm he joined in 2024, drawn by its profound expertise in financial planning and wealth management as well as its unwavering commitment to client success. Together, they are focused on building a firm whose legacy will positively influence generations to come.  

Dan’s journey in financial services began with Northwestern Mutual, where his passion for helping others achieve financial security and peace of mind led him to launch his own firm in 2009. With a degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, Dan has dedicated his career to leading teams to build comprehensive financial plans that empower clients to find clarity, build wealth, and gain confidence in their retirement readiness. His philosophy is guided by core values of gratitude, abundance, personal growth, and responsibility, shaping a unique and thoughtful approach to financial planning.  

A creative thinker with a passion for innovation, Dan’s musical background—including playing cello, piano, and guitar, as well as signing with an a cappella group—has influenced his ability to blend creativity with strategic precision in his work. This approach enables him to craft solutions that are both visionary and practical, perfectly tailored to his clients’ needs.

Dan embraces life fully through a diverse range of activities, including fly fishing, skiing, golfing, and training for triathlons. He also finds joy in traveling with his family and cooking for friends. A devoted community member, he coaches his daughter’s soccer team, mentors his son’s running club, and actively supports childhood cancer research by fundraising for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
