Jake has been working with Northwestern Mutual since 2012 and joined Buddy’s and Casey’s practice in July of 2016. Jake successfully manages the wealth management operations of Wealthpoint Capital Partners and oversees the financial planning aspects of the business as well. Jake was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, and currently resides in Locust Point with his wife Sarah and dog Charlie. In Jake’s free time you may find him playing golf or cheering on the Ravens.

Jake is a graduate of Salisbury University, where he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Management. Jake holds designations which attest to his knowledge and experience in the industry that includes: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter), RICP® (Retirement Income Certified Professional), and most recently the ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant). In addition, he holds his Maryland Life and Health Insurance License, Series 7, and 66 securities registrations. Jake believes in continuing education and plans to sit for future exams and designations.

Malia joined Northwestern Mutual in 2013. For Wealthpoint Capital Partners, her role focuses on client service and experience across insurance risk management and wealth management. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in International Business. She holds the Life, Health, and Annuities insurance licenses, the series 6 and series 63 FINRA exams and is pursuing further industry education, with a goal of 2022. Malia lives in Northern Virginia with her husband. For fun, she enjoys traveling and live music concerts.

Emily joined Northwestern Mutual in 2017. With Wealthpoint Capital Partners, Emily works closely with our advisors to create comprehensive financial plans that are customized to each clients’ unique needs and goals. Emily was born and raised in Howard County, Maryland, and currently resides in Washington, D.C. Navy Yard. For fun, she enjoys trying new restaurants in DC, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Emily is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Insurance and Risk Management. She holds the Life and Health Insurance Producer license, Series 6 and 63 securities exams and is pursuing further industry education, with a goal of 2022.

Rob Garrick handles the investment operations for Wealthpoint Capital Partners. He started at Northwestern Mutual in 2010 in the Columbia, MD office. Rob earned a BS from Towson. He lives in Eldersburg, MD with his wife. He has two daughters. In his spare time, he coaches youth soccer in Maryland. He holds a Level x coaching certificate for youth soccer and coaches 2 teams within Maryland United Club Soccer.

Bonnie joined Wealthpoint Capital Partners in June of 2021 and currently manages the application and underwriting process in addition to assisting clients with all policy owner services. Bonnie was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where she resides with her husband, children, and two dogs. In Bonnie’s free time, you may find her spending quality time with family and friends and exploring new restaurants around the city.

Bonnie is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park and holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. She also holds her Maryland Life and Health Insurance licenses which allows her to assist in managing the entire insurance process from beginning to end. Bonnie has worked in the private and public sector of education for several years and is committed to continuing to help clients and all others in any way she can.

Geocel joined Northwestern Mutual in 2019. She has her associate in communication from Montgomery College. Before joining, Geocel was a professional stage actress in the DMV. As the Director of Operations, Geocel focuses on client services for Dan Nguyen at the Tysons, VA office. For fun, she enjoys live theatre and music, dinner out in the city, dancing with friends along with singing on the porch for her voice lessons. She holds the Life and Health Insurance Producer license and is pursuing further industry education.

Hasmukh has an extensive background with over 30 years of experience in public-sector accounting and information technology.  His experience is a valuable asset to the firm.  He transitioned his skills to the private sector and joined Torchia Financial in 2014, which later merged with Wealthpoint Capital Partners.  He and his wife Rasmita reside in York, PA and are highly active in the local community.

Miguel lives in Elizabethtown, PA with his wife, Crystal, and their two children.  His attention to detail and background in corporate finance and accounting bring a unique set of skills to the firm.  Miguel joined Torchia Financial in 2022, which later merged with Wealthpoint Capital Partners.
